Alocasia Plumbae or "Flying Squid" is a fun plant with spooky and unusual leaves. It’s also considered to be one of the rare plants to care for in the Alocasia family. This alocasia only grows up to 1 foot tall. It has tiny leaves at the end of each green and burgundy petioles that are shaped like squid tentacles, hence its name.
Watering: Check weekly, water if top 30-50% of soil is dry. Prefers underwatering to overwatering.
Light Requirements: Medium to bright indirect sunlight.
Humidity Needs: 60-70%
Soil Preference: A well draining potting mix is ideal. 20% perlite added to a standard potting mix is recommended.
Fertilizing: Use a balanced fertilizer once a month in spring and summer. Cease feeding in winter months. We recommend Grow, Kelp, or Fish Emulsion.
Repotting: Pot up 2" in Spring or Summer when plant becomes root bound.

Common Issues: Keep an eye out for common plant pests that love the humidity levels of alocasias. Most susceptible to root rot due to overwatering.
