A slim, drop of pounamu adorned with Boh Runga's hero design the pīwakawaka fan tail featured on the chain will become a new classic in your jewellery wardrobe.
Māori cherish a beautiful and increasingly rare stone that holds great meaning. Pounamu, a nephrite jade stone is also known as greenstone or in other parts of the world, jade.
Found exclusively in Te Waipounamu (the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand) pounamu is a taonga (treasure) that was prized as both currency and a means of coalescing Māori whakapapa (birthright and genealogy) and pounamu that was handed down through generations was the most revered.
All pounamu in Boh Runga Jewellery is sourced from Te Waipounamu.
*Please note that due to the organic nature of pounamu, each stone will vary slightly. Our pounamu is sourced locally and carved by hand in small batches.
After launching her first collection, Birdland, in 2007, Boh Runga has become a stable in New Zealand jewellery design.
Every collection starts with a story and every design has a message she hopes will resonate with its recipient. Her designs are wearable reminders of people and places you can take with you wherever you go.
